      Maintenance Helper

      This person will assist as instructed by Austin supervision and the Austin Maintenance Mechanic in the layout installation, maintenance and repair of piping, piping systems, fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, petrochemicals and other industrial processing systems.

      Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Ability to be trained to read, understand and work from blueprints, isometric drawings, sketches and other data to select material, cut, measure and thread pipe, install pipe hangers, hang pipe, prepare piping for welding and assembly flanges for both new installation and maintenance operations.
      • Take measurements, fit flat plate or circumference plate for inlays and overlays.
      • General knowledge of tank, vessels and structural work
      • Physically able to climb ladders and stairways, enter and maneuver through vessels, lift at least fifty pounds without problems, work at elevated heights and be willing to learn and help all other crafts as needed.
      • Be willing to enter and work in cooling towers. Required to fit test and wear respiratory protection
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications Required for this Position:

      Education – no minimum education requirements.

      Experience – 6+ months experience in an Industrial setting preferred.
