      Job Description

      The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for a Temporary/On-Call Dining Service Associate at Corby Hall in our Campus Dining department. The UOES division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations.

      We are looking for talented individuals to work in the Congregation of Holy Cross’s Religious Houses, located on the campus of Notre Dame. This environment is unique as it is a position working in the residences of priests and brothers.       Dining Service Associate
      The Dining Service Associate reports to the dining service manager, supporting the
      mission and goals of a "Best in Class" dining program. As a member of a dynamic dining hall operation, the associate will support the daily operations of the dining hall. This position is critical to ensuring all diners feel welcome by providing a warm, friendly atmosphere and being responsive to the changing needs and desires of customers.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Greet and serve guests
      • Set up and clean equipment and facilities
      • Prepare beverages, salads or desserts
      • Assist with dish washing, sweeping, and mopping
      • Provide support in the stock room when necessary
      • Participate in special or catered events within the dining hall or elsewhere on campus

      Qualifications

      • Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision
      • Positive, respectful, excellent communication and listening skills
      • Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time)
      • Ability to move, lift and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 25 pounds
      • Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products

      Additional Information

      Pay Rate: $17.50/hr
