- Clean all assigned areas of the school in accordance with established practices and standards.
- Sweeping, mopping, shoveling, garbage pickup, and general cleaning
- Other related duties as assigned.
Term Floating Spare Janitor
Term position ( 8 hours per day)
Effective immediately until January 31, 2025

Rate of Pay: As per CUPE Collective Agreement ($20.40 per hour)

Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876.
Under the supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, the successful candidates will be required to perform a wide variety of janitorial tasks. The candidate will take part in the AVRCE janitorial training program, which includes WHMIS, Safe Work Practices and other courses.
The training and experience gained as a spare janitor provides the candidate with opportunity to grow within the organization .
Qualifications and Abilities:
Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education strives to provide a thorough hands-on training program.
The candidate must be physically able to perform duties.
The candidate must possess the knowledge and ability to apply modern cleaning methods and practices with minimal supervision.
It is extremely important to the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education that all employees return home injury free. It is a requirement that the candidate is able to apply sound judgment in recognizing safety hazards throughout the premises.
