      QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting for a Test Engineer to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD to support our C5ISR Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Division contract. This position is to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting next generation PNT system evaluation, testing and characterization.

      Duties:

      • Ability to conduct tests to evaluate system performance in both benign and Global Positioning System (GPS) threat environments.
      • Ability to operate GPS simulator to evaluate system performance under complex Electronic Warfare (EW) threats.
      • Ability to operate test equipment such as power supply, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, frequency counter, etc. for the purpose of evaluating various aspects of system performance.
      • Support local testing activities in the PNT lab, APG and local areas, including setting up equipment (units under test and test equipment), troubleshooting, ensuring proper equipment configuration for data collection, and data analysis.
      • Support field test events as required by PM PNT. Support in the field includes setting up equipment (units under test and test equipment), troubleshooting, ensuring proper equipment configuration for data collection, and data analysis.
      • Debug and improve data analysis tools.
      • Ability to create and operate MATLAB programs to conduct quick look analysis during testing to ensure at a high level that the system is performing correctly.
      • Ability to analyze data related to integrated GPS receiver, Inertial Measurement Unit and other complementary sensors.
      • Ability to analyze data related to position accuracy, position confidence levels, and signal integrity.
      • Write technical reports on findings.
      • Brief results to external stakeholders and answer questions on results. Ability to defend results with technical analysis of test data.
      • Assist in defining and documenting system requirements for current and future systems.

      Required Skills & Experience:

      • Detailed-oriented with technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
      • Presentation and briefing skills to top level managers required.
      • Proficiency in MATLAB (required) and python (preferred).

      Required Clearance:

      • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree required.
      • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience required.

      Travel:

      Up to 25% travel is expected for this position.

      Work Environment:

      This position may be performed in a variety of locations, including but not limited to, commercial and/or government offices, test and integration labs, government facilities and depots, and test & evaluation and proving grounds.

      Physical Demands:

      Physical demands of this position include ability to:

      • Be independently mobile.
      • Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
      • Withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and computer use.
      • Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
      • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as glasses/goggles (eyes), ear plugs/muffs (hearing), hard hats, and breathing respirators/masks.
      • Lift/push/pull objects weighing in excess of 20 pounds.
      • Withstand exposure to noise from operating equipment.

      Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

      This is a full‐time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours.
