      WHAT TO EXPECT

      In the role of Powertrain Test Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering Vehicle in Loop (ViL) and Powertrain in Loop (PiL) testing. You will be in overseeing projects within the powertrain test bed, leading operator support teams, managing stakeholders and what They require in the test beds, as well as integrating, commissioning, and validating the next generation of propulsion systems at JLR.

      You will be involved in day-to-day project planning, planning test bed works, and upcoming projects involving them, troubleshooting and problem solving when required, and continuous improvement within the business area.

      You will also have the opportunity to develop test methodology and automation in conjunction with our customer and stakeholder teams to enable the verification and validation of JLR’s ICE and BEV Powertrains.

      Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

      • Work in unison with Testbed operators to co-ordinate project tasks and ensure timely delivery of agreed test plan.

      • Ensure all inputs to KPIs are reported in a timely and structure way to demonstrate the project performance against the Business’ ambition and identify dependencies early and work to resolve them so they don’t become obstacles to the success of the project.

      • Showcase best practices for methodology, providing support and guidance on automation and measurement systems.

      • Review customer test plans against existing capability and work with our advanced automation team to build and develop a library of validated test cases.

      • Responsible for commissioning new systems along with issue routing and problem solving of existing systems as well as commissioning and sign-off of new test facilities and equipment.

      WHAT YOU’LL NEED

      In order to be considered for this role, you will need to have previous experience of the physical testing of powertrain components or systems. You will also need experience with test automation systems (ideally PUMA), and ETAS hardware along with INCA and MDA for calibration, acquisition, and analysis.

      • Experience with Vector hardware using CANalyzer, CANoe, ideally including experience with CAPL.

      • Experience debugging and commissioning complex systems using structured problem-solving techniques.

      • Experience working with Hybrid and/or BEV Powertrain system validation and verification
