      Emerson is looking for a highly motivated, self-directed individual to join our Manila Test team. As part of the team, your primary role is to ensure product quality, predictability, and on-time delivery of our software products. As a Software Test Engineer, your active involvement and participation are expected in a project's initiation, planning, execution, and test closure phases. The team works with computer software systems with a software architecture that is designed for the distributed enterprise using the latest technologies. The ideal candidate should have an aptitude for testing and leadership skills.

      Job Summary:

      If you are seeking an opportunity in Software Testing, Emerson has an excellent role for you! The Software Test Engineer actively participates in the Agile development process, engaging in sprint planning, execution, and testing activities. This role involves working on computer software systems with a software architecture designed for the distributed enterprise, using the latest technologies. We are looking for candidates who possess the skills for testing and leadership in an Agile environment.

      In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

      • Testing Mastery: Show talent in conducting thorough testing activities, encompassing AMS Trex, Bluetooth Low Energy Mobile Application, AMS Device Configurator, AMS Device Manager, Snap-ons, and Emerson/Third-party Host testing. This entails collaboratively defining test scopes based on evolving requirements, providing test estimates, crafting adaptive test plans and test cases, swiftly adapting test configurations, performing scripted and exploratory test cases, promptly reporting, reviewing, and prioritizing issues, and actively participating in fixing of test system anomalies.
      • User-Centric Focus: Immerse yourself in understanding and empathizing with end-users by deeply analyzing project documents, including user requirements, concept documents, design documents, user stories, and use case documents. Accept user feedback to iterate and improve continuously.
      • Holistic Quality Assurance: Champion a broad approach to quality assurance, constantly engaging with multi-functional teams to validate usability, security, interoperability, performance, and scalability aspects. Actively give to agile discussions to ensure our products meet evolving user needs.
      • Agile Collaboration: Adopt Agile principles by collaborating seamlessly with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Managers, Leads, Testers and Feature Developers. Champion a culture of multi-functional collaboration to ensure product quality, maintain predictability, and adhere to agile release timelines diligently.
      • Process Flexibility: Adopt Agile methodologies while adhering to adaptable product development processes. Continuously refine and adapt processes to enhance agility, visibility, and responsiveness.
      • Continuous Improvement: Take the lead in championing and implementing agile process improvements within our Agile team. Encourage a culture of inspecting and adapting, promoting agile retrospectives and continuous learning.
      • Agile Learning: Stay on the cutting edge of domain expertise by participating in learning initiatives. Engage in training, workshops, and knowledge sharing to cultivate standard processes within the team.

      For This Role, You Will Need:

      • Educational Background: A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in engineering (ChE, EE, ECE, ME, Comp Sci, Comp Eng, ICE) or an equivalent degree. Alternatively, you may hold a master’s degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
      • Adaptability: Ability to be flexible and adaptable to various test assignments, reflecting an agile mentality to thrive in a dynamic environment.
      • Risk-Based Testing: Proficiency in prioritizing and performing risk-based tests, ensuring effective and efficient test strategies.
      • Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to address and solve complex problems, a vital skill in overcoming testing challenges.
      • Technical Reporting: Ability to fix systems and effectively communicate findings through technical reports.
      • Communication Skills: Possess strong verbal communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with the technology team, promoting effective collaboration.
      • Multicultural Collaboration: Ability to collaborate remotely and work effectively in a multicultural environment, reflecting a global perspective.
      • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail, creative thinking, and strong analytical skills ensure thoroughness in your work.
      • Operating System and Networking Technical Proficiency: Experience in configuring and fixing Windows operating systems and computer networks.
      • Agile Methodologies and Software Testing: Proficiency in Agile methodologies and software testing, is vital for maintaining product quality in an iterative and customer-centric development environment.
      • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with one of the following process industries: hydrocarbon processing, oil and gas, pulp and paper, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, or power generation.

      Preferred Qualification that Set You Apart:

      • Test Automation Proficiency: Expertise in using popular test automation tools, with a specific focus on Ranorex.
      • Virtualization Skills: Experience in Hypervisors and virtual machines, particularly in platforms like VMware and HyperV.
      • Azure DevOps Competence: Proficiency in Azure DevOps, reflecting your ability to handle and streamline development and deployment processes.
      • Cloud Application Proficiency: Expertise in working with cloud-based applications, particularly within the Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystems.
      • Web Application Testing: Experience in testing web applications, emphasizing your skills in ensuring the reliability and functionality of online platforms.
      • Performance and Scalability Testing: Competency in conducting System Performance and Scalability testing, is critical for assessing product robustness.
