We are ramping up! As a result, our highly critical testing team is growing and we are looking to add to our team at a time that will allow you the chance to gain an understanding, before our testing activities peak.

Reporting to the Train Validation Manager (who has a wealth of experience and passion in this field), the Test Engineer leads the execution and validation of the testing activities for our Rolling Stock fleet based in Ballarat.

Operating alongside a range of subject matter experts and willing colleagues, this position;

• Prepares for and executes the physical tests and validation activities
• Writes, reviews and amends test procedures.
• Ensures the team and infrastructure in readiness for testing
• Works closely with testing and project team members to ensure delivery and safety.

It’s not often the opportunity to validate a train or complete activities such as high-speed brake testings arises, especially close to home. So, if that knowledge and the thought of working on train network systems, lights you up, this may well be the role for you!

Additionally, we are looking for;

• Experience in a test engineer or validation engineer position
• Knowledge of rolling stock/train systems
• Excellent organisational skills
• An engineering qualification
• Willingness and ability to work a flexible roster including night shift

To note, the testing activities will shift from Ballarat to Newport towards the end of 2024 (approximately, subject to change) and there will be a rotating roster that will require some night shift work.
