Ordnance Survey (OS) provides national mapping services for Great Britain and is world-leading provider of geospatial solutions.

OS location data and expertise has helped governments make smarter decisions, businesses gain valuable data insight, and everyone experience the world outside for over 225 years.

Our growing Technology and Design team plays a key role in ensuring OS is at the cutting edge of geospatial capability and is looking for people to join them. Its mission is to work across the business to provide customer centric design and technology services.

Join us and you’ll have an opportunity to make an impact. To empower projects that deliver real-world benefits across Britain and internationally. To hear our customers say they couldn’t have done it without us. And to be central to OS’s vision: to be recognised as world leaders in geospatial services; creating location insight for positive impact.

      About the role

Are you a highly creative and motivated test engineer who enjoys breaking down technical challenges to build analytical frameworks that can monitor and improve the reliability of solutions?

We are currently looking to recruit a Test Engineer to join our Technology team to support our performance test efforts. You will work as a part of the test team to develop automation that supports the next generation of systems, driving our world-leading geospatial and business applications.

Working within an agile team, you will initially work alongside our contract performance test engineer to absorb their knowledge and carry the torch forward into the next challenging phase of work.

Working closely with Engineers and Architects across the programme of work, you will become an established and key part of the performance test efforts throughout each release and phase, providing support to the Test Lead and Seniors in shaping both back and front-end CI/CD test automation infrastructures.

You will also report to and provide regular updates to the domain Leadership; providing assurance at team retrospectives and planning sessions to ensure best practice, continual improvements and appropriate standards are adhered to.

      • Ability to design, write and maintain test frameworks
      • Excellent experience with JMeter, or similar performance applications

      • Prior experience working in an operational support capacity for a production system
      • Prior experience in mentoring and teaching automation skills to others
