      This Test Engineer Staff position within Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Final Assembly and Checkout Facility (FACO) in Nagoya, Japan focuses on overseeing and reducing risks in the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) flight line operations.

      The role involves collaborating closely with MHI, Lockheed Martin’s in-country team, and domestic teams to ensure timely and quality production of F-35 aircraft.

      The responsibilities cover everything from troubleshooting during various testing phases to managing equipment and training personnel.

      What You Will Be Doing
      • Flight Line Operations Oversight: Including tasks such as acceptance test flights (ATF), fuel testing, and aircraft delivery.
      • Systems Installation & Software: Ensuring the proper functioning of MHI F-35 production in terms of systems installation, checkout, and software loads.
      • Subsystem Troubleshooting: Overseeing the testing and validation of critical aircraft subsystems like hydraulics, landing gear, PTMS, and life support systems.
      • Project Management: Managing the acquisition and deployment of test and support equipment.
      • Test Procedures & Training: Developing complex test procedures for production and training teams on equipment maintenance.

      The successful candidate will need strong technical, communication, and project management skills to work effectively across diverse teams and international settings.

      • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a STEM discipline
      • Ability to work with diverse teams to prevent, alleviate, and resolve Production disruptions
      • Troubleshooting experience with Mechanical, Electrical, or Avionics systems
      • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to communicate with peers, internal and external customers, management, and production technicians daily
      • Ability to work in a foreign location and effectively communicate in a challenging language environment
      • Able to learn quickly, enjoy challenges, work independently and as part of a team
      • Experience using Microsoft Office products to analyze data to manage and improve program processes

      Pay Rate:
      The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $100,400 - $192,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

      Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
      (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
