Delivering live and pre-recorded presentations in Adler Theaters.
Assisted with monitoring conditions and logging information on the Adler Theaters.
Interacting with theater guests in a friendly and informative manner before and after presentations to create a positive guest experience.
7 to 25-hour workweek
Eligible to accrue up to 6 vacation days per year
3 sick days as of date of hire (can accrue up to 6.5 days per year)
Eligible to earn time and a half for working on any of the 7 Adler observed holidays

High School Diploma or GED or 3+ years of work experience
At least one year of demonstrable experience speaking before an audience of 20+ people
Able to give a compelling public presentation
Able to learn the operation of hardware and software systems for show presentation. Demonstrate ability to understand and apply astronomical concepts.
Specializations in Astronomy, Theater, or Public Speaking
Planetarium presentation experience, theater performance, theme park host, high school or college level teaching experience

The Position
The Adler Planetarium is seeking a Theater Presenter to join our dynamic team on Chicago's Museum Campus. The Theater Presenter delivers live and pre-recorded presentations in Adler Theaters, monitors the operation of Adler Theaters, and hosts Adler guests during their theater experience. The scheduled start date for this position is March 10, 2025. This individual will also be responsible for:
The Work Schedule
The typical work schedule for this position is 12-18 hours per week, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, on-site at the museum. Weekend and evening availability is required.

The Person
Adler Theater Presenters are outgoing, professional presenters who are excited about the opportunity to guide viewers through state-of-the-art imagery and space science content. An ideal Theater Presenter is a polished public speaker comfortable in front of two or 200 people. A Theater Presenter is self-motivated and can work individually and as part of a team.
