      Job summary

      Trafford Elective Hub(TEH) cater for adult and pediatric patients undergoing day case and inpatient surgery . There is the opportunity to work with different surgical specialties, namely orthopaedic, General, ENT, Maxfax, Gynae, Peadiatric dental and Adult dental, Vascular, pain, Breast surgeries, including Gender affirming Breast surgery, Urology etc

      We are committed to supporting ongoing professional development and provide a robust induction programme for all new starters within theatres at TEH. We strive to provide excellent standards of evidence based care.

      The theatres at WTWA deliver an excellent supernumerary orientation and induction programme for all our new starters, individually tailored to your current level of knowledge and experience. We provide in-house support for all staff and theatre specific practice based educators (PBE) and a learning and development lead to support you in your development.

      Post-holders will also have access to the LEAD Training Programme, a unique and innovative concept to develop skillsets, which brings together all of the education and training activities of the hospital under one umbrella. We have an in-house CPD courses to aid in your development in your role as a practitioner within the organization.

      Main duties of the job

      The role of the Nursing Associate is to work with the Registered Nurse and other members of the multi professional team, providing and monitoring care and contributing to the ongoing assessment, as agreed with supervising clinician(s) and in line with the service pathways. They will monitor the condition and health needs of people within their care on a continual basis in partnership with the multi-professional team.

      The Nursing Associate has a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan, providing holistic and person centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The Nursing Associate will help to bridge the gap between Health Care Support Workers/Nursing Assistants and Registered Nurses by working independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses, working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.

      Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment; and will act in accordance with the NMC Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates.
