- Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages; neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults.
- Performs designated pre-planned treatment activities which may include functional and gross motor activities, assists in organization and implementation of summer group programs, etc. under direct supervision of a licensed therapist and within the constraints of professional licensure laws.
- Assists therapist/nursing personnel where designated support is needed (such as transfers, ambulation practice, etc.).
- Assists in monitoring patients in the rehabilitation area when requested.
- To fulfill responsibilities determined by leadership. May include minor wheelchair adjustments and repairs/maintenance to equipment (i.e., fill tires, adjust leg rests, etc.).
- Maintains patient confidentiality related to conversation, medical records, treatment plans, etc.
- Uses machines and tools in a responsible manner adhering to safety practices as outlined by the manufacturer and OSHA standards.
- Maintains equipment, supplies, orders therapeutic, medical, self-care, and splinting materials under direct supervision of licensed personnel.
- Attends and participates in department program meetings, committee meetings/rounds related to patient treatment, program development, and mandatory safety in-services.
- Responsible for participation in hospital programs for quality assessment and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations, and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the department.
- Knowledge and ability to use computer systems – Harmony, Outlook, EPIC (limited access) maintain excel spreadsheets, working knowledge of word.
- High School Diploma required.
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Identifies customers; answers customers questions; exhibits customer service skills.
Nemours is seeking a Therapeutic Tech (Therapy Services), Full-Time, to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.
This is a full-time rehab technician position supporting the therapy department. This position includes providing assistance to licensed therapists for patient care in the outpatient, inpatient rehab and acute care settings. The rehab tech also is responsible for helping to maintain the cleanliness of our equipment and keeping it in working order. They assist with clerical tasks and maintaining an organized department.

The Therapeutic Technician provides support for the Rehabilitation Department for patient care as well as organizing, cleaning and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. They assist licensed personnel in the care and treatment of patients receiving therapy services by providing physical assistance, preparation/set-up for the treatment sessions, supportive interactions with the patients and families, and clean-up as needed.
Assumes primary responsibility to prepare and assist with therapeutic treatment, perform standard work duties including maintaining temperature and cleaning logs, tracking equipment, maintaining equipment in safe and working condition, and maintaining compliance with infection control guidelines and department cleanliness.
