Job summary
**Please note, the NHS salary scales have recently changed and are expected to come into effect in October. New starters joining the Trust before this time will commence on the old payscales and will move to the new ones once they have been finalised**
Provide administrative support to specialist physiotherapy and occupational therapy services inpatient and outpatient teams.
Working as part of an integrated team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Assistants providing therapy across a variety of services and settings including orthopaedic, acute medical and surgical wards, and respiratory, cardiac and long covid outpatient services
Main duties of the job
Provide efficient, high quality admin service across the physiotherapy and occupational therapy services for both orthopaedic and acute medical and surgical wards and outpatient physiotherapy and occupational therapy for long covid rehab, pulmonary rehab and cardiac rehab.
Liaise with patients, families and visitors regarding appointments and admissions.
Provide telephone answering service for therapy team ensuring calls are correctly directed and actioned.
Input patient contact data from therapy teams onto patient management systems, adhering to the set timetable, to provide accurate information on departmental performance.
Manage appointments via patient management systems and update patients and therapy team accordingly via email or post.
Access patient records on computer systems and from Medical Records, ensuring they are tracked correctly, stored securely and returned promptly.
Attend team meetings, take minutes and record and file electronic documents appropriately.
Communicate with patients, the public, therapy services staff and staff from other departments on a range of issues always presenting an efficient, courteous and empathetic manner.
Undertake relevant photocopying, laminating and binding as required.
Maintain stock of therapy aids and equipment, arranging cleaning and reordering of equipment. Liaising with loan equipment stores for deliveries and collections.
Help to create and maintain efficient filing systems both electronically and in paper form.
