- High School diploma or GED
- One year experience with business office procedures, preferably in a clinic setting with familiarity of medical terminology, but it is not required.
- Bi-lingual is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills, professional and courteous
- Interpersonal, team building, analytic and problem-solving skills
- Decision-making, stress and time management skills
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively in both written and verbal form
- Adept computer skills
- Maintain professional and effective office operations, procedures and services within the Physical Therapy Clinic, under the direction of the Director of Physical Therapy and in compliance with office policies.
- Process daily mail, maintain office supplies and equipment inventory
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe environment in the receptionist area and patient waiting area,
- Coordinate patient movement and report problems or irregularities.
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner in person and over the phone.
- Manage all scheduling aspects; schedule patients with the appropriate physician or therapist, confirm appointments with patients, coordinate patient care and update physician's schedules to ensure that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed.
- Obtain and track Medicare certification / re-certification, obtain physician signatures and progress notes
- Contact insurance companies for authorizations and verification of benefits.
- Collect co-payment, co-insurance and / or visit charges and past due amounts on patient accounts.

San Luis Valley Health is seeking a Therapy Admissions and Authorizations Clerk to join our Therapy team! The Therapy Admissions and Authorizations Clerk is responsible for supporting patients through exceptional customer service, managing all aspects of scheduling, following proper admissions procedures, including the appropriate billing processes, and supporting the Therapy team with administrative services.This position will remain open until 08/31/2024.
