      Job summary

      Are you interested in a career in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy?

      Do you want to make a difference to patients, enabling them to improve their independence?

      This is an opportunity to work with the Therapy teams at North Devon District Hospital, to work with an integrated team of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Staff.

      The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Therapy staff in delegated duties regarding mobility, personal care assessments, equipment ordering, discharge planning and progressing rehabilitation goals.

      The post holder will rotate across the Medical and Surgical Wards.

      Working in a Therapy Clinical Worker Support role is an ideal opportunity to gain experience and have opportunities for career development.

      Within the Therapy department we nurture a workforce of home-grown talent and are proud of our staff who have began careers in a Therapy support worker role and have progressed into other specialist roles or registrant roles.

      Are you:

      • Able to demonstrate experience in Healthcare, have transferrable skills into Therapy.
      • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of a Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
      • Good at working in a team.
      • Enjoy meeting different people.
      • Good at listening and supporting patients with their goals.
      • Enthusiastic to learn.
      • Work flexibly and adapt a busy working environment,
      • Take responsibility for your work and organise your day.
      • Understand the importance of professional behaviour.
      • Able to Therapeutically handle patient in relation to assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.
      • Able to communicate with the appropriate response and manner to both patients and carers / family during emotional times.

      There is an opportunity for candidates to be offered a training post which would be a Therapy Clinical Support Worker (Band 2) until competencies have been met.

      We are a friendly and dedicated team. We are keen to support staff to develop knowledge and experience within their job role and along the career pathway.

      Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with additional weekend working. Part-time opportunities may become available. 22.5 hours available per week.
