Meet the team - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6mVLaUyO4U What we're looking for: We are seeking an intern to join us for a year (2023-2024) to work within the Technology and Application group, focused on the Siemens flagship computational fluid dynamics (CFD) product Simcenter STAR-CCM+. The intern will be responsible for building, solving and reporting on the current capabilities for plasma simulations. Is this your dream role? What you’ll be doing As well as developing and assessing the accuracy of simulation models for plasma applications, you will also be involved with the Documentation and presentation of findings to stakeholders During you time with us, you will acquire a broad understanding of our products, their domains, and their application; have the confidence to express ideas as part of a creative software team; have a genuine interest in technological trends; to think creatively about solutions to complex technical problems; and be constantly striving to enhance the team’s results and the quality of the software. What you’ll bring An undergraduate degree in Physics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or another closely related field Theoretical background and/or experience in simulating plasma physics Theoretical background and/or experience in electrical arcs / circuit breakers An inquisitive and methodical approach with good attention to detail Strong analysis, organisational, and problem-solving ability Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) A knowledge of any of the following would be desirable: Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics Data Analytics Experience in a Linux environment Join our Digital World Siemens is an equal opportunity employer.
