Who you are: You have a passion for plants and a knack for meticulous work. You love laboratory life and enjoy working in micropropagation. You are excited about the chance to work cultivating the next generation of redwood clones, to be part of the magic of science as tiny plant bits transform into redwood seedlings. What the job is: As a Tissue Culture Technician, you will perform techniques for isolation of plant material into rooting media, transfer of plant material to multiplication jars, and bud induction for future transfers. This requires a high degree of concentration and accuracy using fine hand motor skills under laminar flow hoods. The ability to keep accurate and detailed data logs for all tissue culture processes is essential. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment. Additionally, there will be times you will work on research projects and in the nursery helping with seedlings. Active participation in the company safety program is required as well. You should have 2 years of prior related work experience and be familiar with laboratory operations and equipment protocols.Work schedule: We emphasize the importance of reliability, punctuality, and regular attendance for all employees. The work week is Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day.

Towering redwoods, pristine beaches, and a mild year-round climate create abundant recreational opportunities, drawing visitors, students, and residents alike.Compensation: The Tissue Culture Technician has a progression for career growth. At this level, the wage range is $23.00 to $28.25 per hour depending on your experience. The wage is just one component of Green Diamond’s total compensation package. Other rewards include eligibility to receive an annual company financial bonus and a bonus based on your own performance.
