      Position Summary:

      Under the supervision of Systems and Network Manager, supervise systems support personnel and administer hardware support, installation, configuration, integration and development of Systems, Network, and Security related equipment utilized by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribal Government Operations and Business Enterprises.


      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Responsible for developing and coordinating an integrated Access Control and Alarm Monitoring system.
      • Research, evaluate, recommend, install, test, upgrade, program, configure and otherwise maintain Access Control, Secure Keybox and Alarm Systems.
      • Provide technical support to end users for Alarm Monitoring, employee ID Badging, and Secure Keybox systems.
      • Provide technical support to Casino Security and Tribal Police for Alarm Monitoring and employee ID Badging systems.
      • Create employee records in Ccure for all new SECR, MIGIZI and Tribal Operations employees.
      • Printing new and replacement ID badges for all new SECR, MIGIZI and Tribal Operations employees.
      • Study trends concerning new hardware and software, equipment failures or inconsistencies.
      • Oversee work distribution for Systems Technicians.
      • Track and document of time worked and taken off for Systems Technicians.
      • Assist Systems Manager in monitoring and maintaining Network infrastructure.
      • Monitor Access Control, ID Badging, Secure Keybox and Alarm Monitoring Systems to ensure the delivery of high quality Electronic Security services.
      • Manage advanced network and hardware support in complex troubleshooting of all security system related desktop operating systems, client server connectivity.
      • Ensure that Systems Technicians have an adequate supply of tools and supplies.
      • Oversee installation, repair and preventive maintenance on Access Control and Alarm Monitoring equipment.
      • Responsible for the programming necessary for Building Badge Access, Secure Keybox and Alarm Monitoring.
      • Create and maintain electronic maps which aid Casino Security and Tribal Police in quickly locating active alarms.
      • Supervise and mentor Systems Technicians through career path development, positive reinforcement, evaluations, leading by example and disciplinary actions.
      • Troubleshoot and maintain CCTV installations for select Tribal Ops departments and MIGIZI sites.
      • Monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware and software problems pertaining to Network and Security Systems.
      • Liaison between subordinates and end users.
      • Generate reports for department heads containing data collected by Access Control Systems.
      • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity and workstation hardware and software.
      • Read, analyze and interpret technical and general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures.
      • Adhere to employee confidentiality and comply with department policies and federal regulations under the Privacy rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
      • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
      • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

      Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

      • Contact and interface daily with management and end users. Contact made by this position, both internal and external of the tribe, are primarily for problem solving, application and licensing procurement, scheduling of meetings and updates to applications/warranties.
      • Contact with third party sales, technical support, engineers, consultants, and analysts.


      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor`s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
      • Three years` experience in IT. One year in a supervisory capacity.
      • An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
      • Experience with Windows Server and Desktop OS, Linux, UNIX, Disaster Recovery software and hardware.
      • Experience with 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet and 10 Gb/s Ethernet LAN/WAN/WLAN.
      • Strong communication skills.
      • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.


      License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

      • HIPAA certification must be completed within 30 days of hire.
      • Must have a valid Michigan Driver`s License and must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Driver`s License and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier.
      • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.


      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, tribal laws, regulations and requirements.
      • Knowledge of MIS and IT concepts, principles, and practices; computer operations and user environments; and enterprise applications.
      • Knowledge of security systems.
      • Knowledge of access badging systems.
      • Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software.
      • Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
      • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
      • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
      • Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations.
      • Skill in supervising, training, and evaluating assigned staff.
      • Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system applications.
      • Ability to provide a range of systems training and support activities for users.
      • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on systems and devices.
      • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
      • Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.
      • Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.
      • Ability to prepare accurate, complete and legible reports and present detailed, accurate and objective oral presentations.
      • Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.


      Physical Demands:

      • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment.
      • Required to sit for extended periods of time.
      • Occasionally required to stand and walk and reach with arms and hands.
      • Required to climb ladders, accessing high and low areas, to include communications towers, water towers, roof structures, lighting poles and above ceilings.
      • Required to squeeze hands and body into confined spaces.
      • Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear.
      • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


      Work Environment:

      • Normal work environment.
      • May encounter high noise levels, dust and second-hand smoke.
      • Frequent work within unfinished and non-environmentally controlled buildings while buildings are still under construction
      • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
      • Travel may be required.
