- Design and Development:
Creating new tooling designs, including jigs, fixtures, and other manufacturing aids, often using CAD software.
- Tool Modification:
Improving existing tools and fixtures to enhance efficiency, quality, and performance.
- Collaboration:
Working closely with production teams, designers, and other engineers to identify tooling needs and ensure solutions meet production goals.
- Troubleshooting:
Identifying and resolving tooling-related issues and providing technical support.
- Tool Maintenance:
Performing regular maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on tools and equipment.
- Compliance:
Ensuring tooling designs and processes comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management:
Managing tooling inventory and procurement.
- Project Management:
Potentially managing tooling projects from conception to completion.
- Training:
Training and mentoring junior engineers and technicians on tooling processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), understanding of manufacturing processes, and knowledge of tooling design principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve tooling issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with various teams.
- Attention to Detail:
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate and high-quality tool designs.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is typically required.

Work to improve existing tooling, create new designs, and ensure tools are functioning properly and efficiently.
