      Job Summary:

      Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning and the Director of Student Services, the

      TOSA: Dual Identified implements essential components of the Teaching and Learning Department. This position focuses on the following things:

      • Overseeing MTSS processes for students who are emerging bilinguals
      • Supporting special education teachers in serving students who are emerging bilinguals
      • Supporting EL teachers who are serving students who are also identified as having a disability

      Qualifications:

      Education/Certification/Bonding and/or Testing Required: ?

      • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in an education discipline.
      • Valid Oregon teacher’s certificate
      • Oregon fingerprint and criminal check clearance

      Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

      • Experience with Student Services, IDEA, and ELD best practices.
      • Effective communication skills requiring frequent contact with the public.
      • Skill in computer operations and use of programs involving word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
      • Proficient organizational skills.
      • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff, students, parents, community.
      • Partners and other stakeholders to build a culture of equity which is student centered.
      • Resource management and grant writing abilities preferred.

      Experience:

      • Preferred five (5) years as a teacher, experience in teacher or administrative leadership.

      Major Responsibilities and Duties:

      • Collaborates with the Department of Teaching & Learning and Student Services.
      • Provides leadership and training of staff who support students who are dual identified.
      • Encourages and assists with innovations in instruction and in coordination of the instructional program.
      • Explores strategies to improve academic skills at all levels to meet the needs of each and every student.
      • Coordinates and provides staff development activities for all teachers.
      • Attends professional development to bring forward emerging best practices and interventions.
      • Serves as a liaison between elementary, middle and high school teachers and specialists in curriculum, instruction and assessment.
      • Explores specific strategies and practices to improve academic outcomes for all students, including English Learners, students experiencing disability, and students who are TAG.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      This position is 1.0 FTE; 191 days per year.

      Start date: 2025-26 school year

      New staff inservice will be held 8/19/2025-8/20/2025 and will be paid in addition to contract days.
