      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Maintain the Tourist Development Tax (TDT) Excise database, ensuring accurate records of active, inactive, and closed accounts
      - Monitor and handle all Tourist Tax collections, including mail, scanning, shredding, faxes, and phone inquiries
      - Prepare daily deposits and run daily balancing reports for tax payments
      - Communicate with taxpayers regarding inquiries, payments, and account statuses through various communication channels
      - Prepare and submit monthly reports to relevant departments and reconcile collections with the general ledger

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or two years of direct experience; degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
      - Minimum of three years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in government accounting
      - Minimum of three years of customer service experience
      - Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
      - Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience with financial applications, particularly JD Edwards OneWorld
      - Knowledge of applicable Federal and State statutes and regulations related to tax administration
      - Experience in assisting and training others in relevant knowledge areas
      - Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
      - Familiarity with Lee County Ordinance as it pertains to Tourist Development Tax
