What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and analyze daily global trading activity using various analytical tools and energy trading systems
- Develop and enhance knowledge of North American, European, and Asia Pacific markets related to commodities
- Provide input into processes and develop models for analyzing time-series data
- Maintain working relationships with front-office personnel and understand ConocoPhillips trading strategies
- Conduct risk analysis reviews for commercial counterparties and monitor global regulatory trading thresholds
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than the current employer
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field
- 1 or more years of experience with database design and SQL using Access, Oracle, or SQL Server
- 1 or more years of experience using programming languages such as VBA, C, Python, R, or MATLAB
- Beginner proficiency in designing solutions using Power BI, Tableau, or similar data analysis tools
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 1 or more years of commercial experience or relevant oil & gas experience, including internships
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Advanced modeling and time series data analysis experience
- Strong communication and networking skills with senior-level staff
- Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate across organizational boundaries
