      Job Description

      SUMMARY: The primary goal of the Trade Finance Associate position is to support the sales and customer service excellence objectives of the Trade Finance Practice within Corporate Banking. This position shall interact with clients, provide administrative support on loans as it relates to upfront and ongoing requirements, loan fundings and client onboarding.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
      • Gather required documentation from client/suppliers and function as the liaison with internal partners to complete the onboarding process.
      • Provide Customer Service to Trade Finance clients.
      • Monitor Trade Finance transactions to ensure the portfolio is aligned with stated objectives. The Trade Finance associate is responsible for reviewing and addressing past dues, alerts and internal covenants set forth upon closing.
      • Review supporting documentation for fundings, such as Purchase Orders, Invoices and Bill of Lading. Confirm adherence to internal policies.
      • Process loan fundings by verifying documentation, ensuring compliance with lending requirements and coordinating disbursement of funds to borrowers in a timely manner.
      • Conduct reconciliation of client payments against approved payment schedules.
      • Provide oversight of the required Insurance policies.
      • Administer and maintain the Trade Finance platform(s), adding new users, onboarding new suppliers, accepting new offers and creating reports for booking.
      • Provide clients and new users with training.
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Trade Finance platform vendors; managing communication and resolving issues to ensure smooth operation and alignment with business needs.
      • Reconcile vendor invoices verifying accuracy, resolving discrepancies and maintaining financial records.
      • Ensure operational efficiency by identifying opportunities for automation. Serve as the subject matter expert for process improvements.
      • Monitor the translations of financial documents.
      • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
      • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
      • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.
      EDUCATION

      Bachelor's Degreein a related field or equivalent experience preferred

      EXPERIENCE
      • 3-5 Years of experience in related fieldrequired
      • Experience in Trade Finance is preferred
