Monitor, review, reconcile and analyze a wide variety and high volume of financial transactions and corporate actions.
Work under the supervision of the Manager, Trade Management, to assist with various projects.
Assist with Trade Management Team initiatives and identify and resolve inefficiencies in current Trade Management processes.
Develop knowledge of relevant internal systems
Facilitate departmental initiatives, as required.
Build and maintain collaborative, supportive relationships with team members of Investment Operations and various departments’ key operational personnel.
A fundamental knowledge of finance, business and investment-related disciplines is essential.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Exhibit a high level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a close interdependent team environment.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize.
Strong attention to detail
Interest in operational investment management, commitment to the highest ethical standards and an eagerness to learn.
Strong problem-solving abilities
Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel, Power BI – including the ability to use involved formulas and macros); Bloomberg experience is an asset.
Previous work/intern/co-op experience or exposure to capital markets is preferred.

Competitive pay
Mid / Back Office: $2,260.00 gross bi-weekly or $2,090.00 gross bi-weekly + vacation leave paid based on 6% of salary ($2,260.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) a graduate degree or joining the Investment Strategy & Risk department and $2,090.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate)
Travel: if coming to Victoria for this work term, BCI will provide a fixed-rate travel allowance based on your location

The Trade Management co-op/intern will work within our Investment Operations, Trade Management branch. This is a great opportunity for you to gain a broad understanding of investment industry operations and corporate action transactions, while sharpening your analytical and project management skills
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Investment Operations (IO) is comprised of four branches: Trade Management, Cash Operations, Business Solutions and Derivatives, Collateral & Engineering. These teams support trade settlement, manage daily cash flows, provide technical support to all BCI and administer the derivative processing and collateral management for the Corporation.
