      The Project

      The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.

      With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.

      The Opportunity

      Our Project Team is looking for an experienced Traffic Engineer to manage and implement traffic works on our project to ensure safety, time, cost, quality, safety and contractual targets are achieved.

      Some of the role’s key accountabilities include;

      • Manage traffic procurement and ensure subcontractor registers are accurately maintained to produce monthly accruals and assist in control of the budget and forecasting;
      • Ensure concise and timely contribution to weekly and monthly reports for Project works;
      • Identify and assist in the Head Contract variations, including the identification of possible variations or changes to scope;
      • Develop an accurate monthly measure of works done for use in Progress Claims and assessment of subcontractor claims;
      • Identify commercial risks and opportunities;
      • Audit and report implemented traffic arrangements onsite;
      • Ensure the development, in collaboration with the Traffic Manager, of a detailed programme for day to day activities, look ahead programme for traffic control requirements;
      • Coordinate resources to ensure the Project works progress in conjunction with other Section works;
      • Communicate the program to all relevant internal parties;
      • Assist in ensuring direct employees and subcontractors are appropriately skilled to perform their tasks including development and implementation of traffic control management

      About You

      To be successful you will have the following experience and capabilities:

      • Bachelor of Civil or Traffic Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience
      • Relevant construction and traffic experience;
      • Experience in development of Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS),auditing and contractor management;
      • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing
      • Experience in Excel, Word, Powerpoint and required office software
      • Experience in RAPID software, developing and auditing TGS

      The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
