We are currently searching for a motivated and experienced Traffic Engineering Design Leader who manages projects and can lead a local / regional team. This dual role will support our Midwest Region in Missouri and Illinois.
This is an exciting opportunity to help continue to expand our services across the West Central Region and manage the operations of the Traffic Engineering staff and win/manage projects.
This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, and client contact. Additional activities include managing the design and delivery of projects profitably while being actively involved in design issues and troubleshooting.
What you’ll be doing:
• Be a practice builder – developing and growing the following services:
• Be a practice builder – expanding traffic services geographically:
• Assist Regional Leadership with MO Design-Build service line development, staffing, and contractual tasks
• Serve as the lead with key client and contract management
• Recruit, develop and retain traffic engineering staff
• Work with municipalities, counties, or MODOT
• Manage traffic projects to meet financial and technical requirements
• Writing proposals
• Participating and/or leading interviews
• Performing contract negotiations
• Project work planning
• Supervising the execution of work
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations
• Participate in marketing and business development
What you need to have:
• B.S. or M.S. in Civil engineering from ABET accredited engineering program
• Licensed Missouri P.E.
• 15+ years of progressive transportation/roadway experience
• 5+ years of experience in management of engineering and support staff
• Must be proficient with the following software:
• Possess a strong understanding of project management
• The ability to manage AND assist in the production of design deliverables
