If you like change, no two days being the same, are customer centric, enjoy learning, being part of a supportive team – this may be what you are looking for. Moving Passengers and Freight on our rail network, KiwiRail contributes significantly to the NZ economy by reducing road congestion, pollution, fuel usage and road maintenance. Train Control is the “brain” of KiwiRail – controlling the movement of freight, scenic and commuter trains across the country.

There is significant growth in the Passenger Metro Rail Services in Wellington and Auckland as well as increased demand for access to our rail network for key maintenance and infrastructure projects. We are a busy and dynamic operation with our team of Train Controllers working together to keep the wheels in motion and ensure all operations and activities on the rail corridor are undertaken with safety being the key priority.

Not only will your workplace be modern and set in park-like grounds, you will work with the latest train control systems, presently being developed by a multi-national organisation for progressive implementation over the next few years.
