      The Position

      Kick start your career with an Early Careers Traineeship in Translational Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics and Clinical Pharmacology

      Our Early Careers Translational Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics and Clinical Pharmacology (TPCP) traineeship is designed to help you transition from academia to industry. You’ll progress through a 2-year traineeship, gaining valuable experience and insights within TPCP, to really develop and expand your scientific skills and knowledge in drug discovery and development. Working and collaborating on challenging projects across a range of therapeutic areas and modalities, you’ll find continuous opportunities to learn, develop and make a real impact. All whilst fuelling your curiosity, building lasting relationships, and working towards your personal and professional goals.

      About the programme

      In the TPCP chapter, our purpose is to drive benefit to every patient by selecting the right drug and dosing regimen, and our work spans from early drug discovery right through to launch of drugs on the market. We have designed a 2-year traineeship enabling recent graduates to join us in making a difference and doing now what the patient needs next.

      • You will gain experience in DMPK-PD, where you’ll learn how to devise and lead efficient and effective drug optimization and PKPD strategies, to assess risks, predict human PK and determine the dose to inform clinical studies. You’ll also gain exposure to ealy clinical pharmacology strategies to understand the PK behaviour of new drugs in humans by combining it with the knowledge of human pharmacology and contributing to the clinical development.

      After the 2-year traineeship, you will be ready to enter the pharmaceutical industry, where you can make a real impact and continue in your learning and development journey.

      Essential requirements

      To be eligible for the traineeship, you’ll need:

      • To be a recent Ph.D graduate with no more than two years’ post-graduate work experience.

      • To have a background in pharmacology, pharmacy, biology, chemistry, biochemistry or other science-related disciplines.

      • Demonstrate a genuine passion for science and a strong interest in drug discovery and development as a career.

      • Strong technical and problem solving skills.

      • Strong critical thinking skills

      • Strong academic performance.

      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)

      • Highly collaborative, self-motivated and productive

      • Able to work independently or as part of multidisciplinary teams
