- Attend, engage with, and successfully complete a prescribed course of study through Manchester University, Liverpool John Moores, or the University of Central Lancashire.
- Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring effective support and intervention delivery.
- Provide a diverse array of evidence-based one-to-one, group, and online interventions to clients.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to guide treatment planning and intervention strategies.
- Support community events to enhance outreach and engagement.
- Promote the service, actively seeking opportunities to generate referrals and expand access to mental health support
- We are able to offer 3 routes to completing the trainee PWP course. The university & service you are offered may be dependent on the route you are eligible to apply for.
- We are able to offer the level 7 pathway which is for those who hold a degree (2:2 or above).
- We offer the level 6 pathway for those who hold relevant level 5 qualifications and have 2 years relevant experience in a mental health setting.
- Finally we are able to offer the apprenticeship pathway for those who do not hold a degree or level 5 qualification however do hold a Maths & English GCSE (C or above) and have 2 years relevant experience in a mental health setting
- a.Experience of working with people facing a range of barriers, mental health difficulties and social issues
- b.Experience of managing a caseload of clients and keeping up to date records using a database
- c.Experience of working with individuals (1-2-1) and groups of people in different settings to help them achieve their goals
- d.Experience of working with a range of agencies and organisations to develop effective working relationships
- e.Experience in one or more of the following fields: mental health, family support, physical health, smoking cessation, diet and exercise, employment, social inclusion or debt management
- a. Ability to use a database/ability to learn how to use a database
- b. Ability to assist clients to help them define and achieve their goals and aspirations
- c. Ability to manage a varied and complex work load effectively
- d. Ability to work well across a range of different subject areas such as housing, mental health, education and debt management for example
- a. Positive and outlook and a can do attitude
- b. Personal resilience and flexible attitude in the face of difficulties
- c. Ability to work flexibly (including evening and/or weekend work)
- d. Commitment to working towards the Big Life groups ethos and values, including having a non-judgemental approach
- e. Commitment to personal development and willingness to regularly update skills and experience

Job summary
Are you highly motivated and passionate about improving the lives of those experiencing common mental health problems?
Do you have the skills to to organise and prioritise your own busy workload whilst delivering excellent care?
Do you have the ability to complete a PgCert in Low Intensity Interventions whilst working in a busy NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression service?
You will have the opportunity to work as part of the Manchester/ Eastern Cheshire/ Stockport/ Rochdale Talking Therapies teams to train in and provide a range of NICE approved interventions for common mental health disorders. This role is not remote and you will be required to travel to university and your place of work.
Successful applicants will attend university (university dependant on service) completing an IAPT compliant PgCert in Low intensity interventions.
Fixed term from September 2024 - September 2025
37.5 Hours per Week

Main duties of the job
