      We are currently hiring for a role that will be critical in driving growth, improving operational efficiency, and delivering outstanding customer experiences to ensure the future success of the Canada business. The Transformation Director will lead the business transformation agenda (both strategic and operational) for the Canadian business – driving spectacular and groundbreaking improvements, continuing to spur a ‘radical rethink’ aligned to the future Canada vision and strategy, and holding leaders to account for delivery to collectively achieve future ambition. To do so, you will overlay Market, Competitor and Partner insight to help shape different thinking and push the boundaries on Business-As-Usual into Innovative and Transformational thinking.

      This individual will be responsible for leading strategic and operational initiatives, with the overall strive to transform and improve the Canada business, ensuring strategy alignment between Board/Group, Canada, Business Divisions and Functions – including unlocking Group big bets and One Aviva initiatives. You will be responsible for driving resource and investment allocation and prioritization across Canada to enable delivery of our vision and play a leading role in delivering against Aviva Group, Canada and COO’s critical metrics and Scorecard.

      What you’ll do :

      Business Transformation Strategy:

      • Develop a comprehensive business and function transformation strategy for Canada, aligning it with the overall business strategy, goals, and objectives.
      • Identify and prioritize key areas for improvement, such as product development, customer experience, operational efficiency, data, automation and digital transformation.
      • Accountability for driving delivery of the Canada ambition and is empowered to allocate funding/ resources across Canada.

      Leadership and Collaborator Management:

      • Provide leadership and guidance to the cross-functional team, including Canada Exco, Workstream Leads, project managers, analysts, and other collaborators involved in the transformation process.
      • Ongoing collaboration with Canada Exco, and other key partners to gain consensus and support for transformation initiatives.
      • Demonstrate a resilient mentality - continuing to push past the convenient compromise, to logically help colleagues look for multiple paths to success, with the end goal of value creation.
      • Orchestrate the ‘Transformation’ virtual team across Group, across UKL, AI, Functions and Canada, GI and BU Teams (Hub and Spoke)

      Change Management/PMO:

      • Lead organizational change efforts by effectively presenting the vision, goals, and benefits of the transformation initiatives to all levels of the organization.
      • Portfolio planning and execution assurance, intervening and supporting recovery of red projects
      • Develop and implement change management strategies, including communication plans, and performance measurements, to ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems, and technologies.
      • Provide “air traffic control” across all Canada transformation activity - working closely with Transformation Leaders across Canada, and as appropriate the wider Aviva Group.
      • Effective management of resourcing requests, interdependencies and ensuring collective assessment of do-ability, upskilling and prioritization of strategic transformation activity.
      • Uplift and upskill Sponsors through Sponsor Training, education and assessment
      • Effective management of prioritization challenges and blockages at the most senior level.

      Operational Excellence:

      • Find opportunities for process optimization and operational excellence within Canada.
      • Implement standard processes, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency to drive cost savings, and deliver superior customer service.

      Innovation and Digital Transformation:

      • Stay close to industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape to drive innovation and digital transformation
      • Identify and implement innovative solutions, linked to sophisticated analytics, automation, AI, and digital customer engagement platforms, to enhance business processes and deliver differentiated customer experiences.
      • Maintain an external network – engagement across peers, consultants, industry experts and linking in with Aviva Ventures.

      Portfolio Reporting:

      • Establish key performance indicators and metrics to measure the success and impact of the transformation initiatives.
      • Regularly monitor and report on the progress, identifying areas of improvement and taking corrective actions as required.

      What you’ll bring:

      • Good understanding of insurance products, underwriting processes, claims management, and regulatory requirements.
      • Consistent track record and passion for successfully leading and delivering very large-scale business transformation initiatives.
      • Personal conviction and energy to sustain Canada momentum to achieve our Strategic Goals.
      • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and empower teams, and effectively lead collaborators at all levels of the organization.
      • Solid understanding of change management principles and methodologies, with the ability to drive cultural change and overcome resistance.
      • Strategic approach with the ability to think critically, identify business opportunities, and develop innovative solutions.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and insights to drive decision-making.
      • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in the insurance industry, such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics.
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Proactive and results-oriented, with a strong drive and relentless focus for achieving measurable business outcomes.
      • Experience in the General Insurance industry with a specialism in Transformation.
      • Previous experience of leading multiple sophisticated high value change and transformation programs with effective people management.
      • Expertise driving rapid and successful operational turnarounds across key strategic, revenue, cost and working capital levers
      • Comfortable driving a full planning cycle from the diligence above into budgets
      • The ability to bridge across multiple, often interdependent, initiatives to manage to net financial outcomes and to highlight and manage dependencies
      • Has a future focused approach to business and a willingness to take commercial and mitigated operational risk
