      DESCRIPTION:
      Under the general direction of the Director Transformational Change, the Transformational Change Advisor will be responsible for supporting FortisAlberta’s strategic vision and goals by providing expertise and best practice to support planning, decision making and implementation of transformational change initiatives. As an advisor, you will be accountable for planning and executing strategies and tactics that support people readiness, engagement, communications and learning in support of FortisAlberta’s business objectives and cultural outcomes. You will support efforts to build change capability and capacity in the organization.

      DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

      Plan and execute change management activities by applying a structured methodology:

      • Support all aspects of organizational change management planning and execution on assigned projects in close collaboration with the Director, Transformational Change.
      • Perform confidential change impact, sponsor, and risk assessments; prepare change and communication plans to address key risks and achieve business outcomes.
      • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Communications and other business stakeholders to identify, monitor, and mitigate people risks throughout change initiatives.
      • Define, measure, and report on people readiness and change success metrics.
      • Collaborate with key business stakeholders to co-create and sponsor change management strategies, plans, and decisions.
      • Establish two-way communication mechanisms with a focus on acute listening and creating systems for feedback and engagement.
      • Provide confidential consultation and coaching to teams and individuals at all levels of the organization as a trusted advisor on change management and transformation best practices and decisions.
      • Partner with the Project Manager and/or Initiative Business Lead to integrate organizational change into the project plans, including major milestones, costs, and schedule.

      Contribute to building organizational capability and capacity for change:

      • Assist in developing standardized change management tools, templates and processes for the Transformational Change team.
      • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders and stay connected on strategic issues impacting them.
      • Conduct "lessons learned" and other evaluation strategies.
      • Partner with other specialists and support functions to execute people-related strategies.

      • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

      • Demonstrated experience delivering with one or more structured change methodologies.
      • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships, collaborate, influence and act as an integrator to people across the organization in service of effective change leadership and support.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills; ability to effectively communicate to people at all levels.
      • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan strategies and execute tactics while acting collaboratively.
      • Sound judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
      • Organized, resourceful, and comfortable working in scenarios with ambiguity and change.
      • Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.

      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
      • Degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Development or related discipline.
      • A demonstrated track record (minimum 5 years) of successfully supporting the planning and execution of strategic change efforts in support of organization and cultural change; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
      • Change Management certification (i.e. Prosci).
      • Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably within the electrical utility industry would be an asset.

      SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
      • Occasional overnight travel is a requirement of this position.
      • Valid Class 5 drivers permit.
