      The ideal candidate for this role will have:

      Experience Auditing/overseeing contractor productivity and ensures quality workmanship
      Experience managing Commercial Fleet DOT compliance
      Experience communicating with manufacturers to work through warranty repairs
      Shop Foreman or Lead Mechanic experience
      Experience facilitating EPA/OSHA regulatory compliance for fueling systems and safety

      Manages, administers, and monitors the contracted maintenance operations of CobbLinc's Bus Fleet.


      Conducts maintenance inspections of transit buildings, equipment, and facilities to identify potential problems, unsafe conditions, needed repairs, or other situations requiring attention: issues work orders or arranges for vendors to complete maintenance/repair work; and reports damage/vandalism, potentially hazardous/dangerous situations, or other problems to appropriate personnel.


      Compiles data and assists in completing a variety of reports for the National Transit Database (NTD), e.g., NTD Safety and Security reports, NTD Charter Service reports, and NTD Annual Report.


      Conducts random, unannounced field inspections on all activities related to fleet maintenance, equipment, and safety, and evaluates contractor's employees' performance in the areas of fleet maintenance.


      Reviews and analyzes fleet availability reports, including active and completed work orders, and investigates recurring items.


      Monitors the quality and safety of the County's transit bus maintenance as dictated by specific contractual performance standards of the County to ensure compliance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements and Transit Division's safety rules.


      Assist in developing requests for proposals (RFP) with regards to transit equipment, transit facilities, maintenance and new procurements.


      Coordinates administrative process of preparing vehicles for addition to and removal from County fleet inventory: obtains vehicle specifications for bids; reviews bids and quotes; makes recommendations to purchase; drafts supporting documentation to process purchase orders for vehicles; prepares and files acquisition documents for use in obtaining registration and insurance; prepares and provides documentation and vehicle photographs for online auction listings; and removes items from fleet database.


      Maintains electronic files on each fleet vehicle:; and generates and provides vehicle records and reports as requested.


      Performs inspections or audits of service performed by outside vendors: ensures new vehicles from dealerships meet specifications;; obtains and maintains before and after photographs and places in electronic vehicle files; prepares appropriate inspection documents; and compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports.


      Performs other related duties as assigned.


      Minimum Qualifications

      Associate Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field required; supplemented by two years of analytical or resource planning experience, with a preference for knowledge or experience in fleet maintenance or fleet management; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

      Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.


      Sensory Requirements

      Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.


      Environmental Factors

      Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, hazardous materials, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, and traffic hazards.
