      Transmission Engineer

      Location: Belfast + *Hybrid
      Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
      Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Mon to Fri

      What you’ll do

      A new opportunity has arisen for a Network Transmission Specialist to join a team providing market leading engineering services in support of our dedicated customer contract.

      You will report to the Managed Engineering Services Operations Manager, responsible for the management of a UK wide based team of multi skilled Field & Project Delivery Engineers who are responsible geographically for service delivery and 24x7x365 Support across various accounts.

      In the role you will be member of a highly skilled, multi-disciplined engineering team responsible for delivering quality and meeting business targets in support of the Managed Service Agreement. This will require providing 24x7 support as part of an on-call rota.

      Responsibilities:

      • Design of customer solutions, both at High and Low Level
      • Configuration of customer networks, ensuring that all associated customer and network documentation is maintained, inclusive of standard and non-standard customer solutions
      • Carry out network configuration and associated activities in adherence to approved Local Work Instructions and Customer requirements
      • Validate and carry out planned customer network changes both inside and outside of core working hours
      • Analyse Network management information and take action to resolve any highlighted issues
      • Coach and mentor Apprentices and Engineers to ensure technical standards are met and maintained
      • Escalation point for technical issues within the team
      • Assist in providing technical approval/rejection for non-standard customer solution proposals
      • Take a lead role in Subject Matter Specialist area (Transmission, Data, IPT and Contact Centre, or Security) and assist with development of training plans

      Who you are

      • Developed Technical knowledge with practical hands-on experience of CPE, IP,
      • Telecoms transmission technologies
      • Ethernet, PDH, SDH, MSP, Sync, SCADA, Legacy networks, Network Management/SNMP MIB
      • SCADA UHF Radio Experience
      • Microwave Link Experience
      • Fibre Optic Maintenance
      • Database Management
      • Valid / full UK driving license
      • Eligibility for BPSS / SC clearance
      • Ability to encourage the growth of talent within the team and improve performance

      Any of the following would be highly beneficial:

      • Experience working with customers form the Utilities Sector
      • Cisco CCNA
      • RAD/SIAE/GE product knowledge
      • IP Telephony experience
