For more than two decades, TGH has been a leader in organ transplantation, performing over 12,000 transplants since inception. The Liver Transplant program is active in clinical research and has several ongoing clinical trials in HCC, NASH, and HCV. This position involves the full scope of both clinical and transplant hepatology as well as teaching and mentoring rotating medical students, residents, and gastroenterology fellows from the University of South Florida (USF). TGH is proud to serve as the primary teaching hospital for the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Through that partnership, USF provides GI fellows and Surgery resident rotations monthly on the Liver Transplant Service.
Our program performs an average of 145 liver transplants per year since 2019. The Transplant Institute is currently supported by four Liver Transplant Surgeons, seven Hepatologists, and six Hepatology Advanced Practice Providers. We have a dedicated Hepatology Hospitalist team as well. We are the only hospital in West Central Florida performing adult heart, lung, kidney, pancreas, and liver transplantation. We are a top 10 Liver Transplant Program.
Our physicians enjoy:
Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine. Completion of an accredited residency program. Board certification within the time frame established by the applicable Specialty Medical Staff Department. Unrestricted licensure to practice as a physician in the State of Florida.
