- On-site audits and inspections to confirm industry participant (IP) operations reflect arrangements set out in regulatory submissions
- Investigation of security incidents that identify security vulnerabilities or result in a breach of the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre's (CISC) regulatory framework
- Testing of IP screening and security systems utilising covert tradecraft and a range of simulated weapons.

- Applicants need to apply work knowledge, policy, procedures and guidelines to situations and make rational judgements and decisions from the available information, including when to refer them to senior managers.
- Work independently and under limited guidance in relation to conducting operational compliance activities. Where appropriate, complex or difficult issues are discussed with team leaders and/or managers.
- Exercise a high degree of judgement to make decisions on the application of administrative law, regulations, best practice principles or CISC standard operating procedures to ensure regulated IPs meet international and national security standards which govern the secure movement of people and goods. There are significant administrative responsibilities associated with this work. Government accountability standards require all activities to be documented, reviewed for accuracy and completeness, and approved as lawful.
- Perform objective and systematic research and analysis to obtain accurate conclusions based on evidence. Where appropriate, identify problems or issues and resolve or establish treatments to mitigate in consultation with team leaders and/or management.
- Formulate correspondence and write accurate, high-quality reports on non-compliance findings.
- Conduct investigations into non-compliance with legislation and regulations and collect and record evidence that may be used in future enforcement or judicial proceedings.
- Obtain and maintain an Australian Driver's License with the ability to drive unsupervised
- Obtain and maintain an Airside Driving License
- Obtain and maintain a Firearms license/permit (for the relevant region)
- Obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) and an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Obtain and maintain a Certificate IV in Government Investigations (Regulatory Compliance) (or similar approved qualification)

Cyber & Infrastructure Security | Cyber & Infrastructure Security | Regulatory Compliance | Regional Compliance QLD and Regional Compliance VIC/TAS/SA
The Regulatory Compliance regional teams in QLD and VIC are responsible for ensuring airports, airlines, air cargo operators, ports and offshore oil and gas facilities in their regions are compliant with the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004 and the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003.

The role requires regular travel to regional locations, some interstate travel, and work hours reflect the variability of industry operations so will include work on weekends and outside of normal business hours.

In line with the new 2024-2027 Enterprise Agreement, employees appointed as Transport Security Inspectors (TSI) will receive an annualised TSI allowance, paid fortnightly. The role will require spending time in the field, regular travel to regional locations and occasional travel interstate. Work hours reflect the variability of industry operations so will include occasional work on weekends and outside of normal business hours. Fieldwork can be physically demanding and may require staff to be on their feet for long periods of time and cover significant distances, however, this will be balanced with periods of office based administrative work. Work priorities are likely to frequently change, and the successful candidate must be able to prioritise and self-manage a significant portion of their work to ensure the timely delivery of quality outputs.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
