      BASIC FUNCTION: Perform a variety of secretarial duties in support of transportation operations and activities; ensure all bus routes are covered; prepare and process a variety of documents; serve as a liaison and coordinate transportation communications and information between the Department, bus drivers, FWCS departments and others. QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year clerical experience involving frequent public contact, computer operations and financial functions. Must have strong office, computer, public relations and oral and written communication skills. Incumbents must possess knowledge of the terminology, practices and procedures of assigned office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Receive and route incoming telephone calls to appropriate supervisor; provide information concerning transportation activities; take and relay messages as needed. 2. Open office; coordinate and process sub bus driver assignments due to employee absences. 3. Print and distribute routes of absent employees to assigned substitute bus drivers. 4. Complete and track absent employee routes/mid-days to schedule substitute bus driver coverage utilizing a spreadsheet for tracking and payroll information. 5. Get the preliminary report to dispatch for afternoon bus changes and Study Connection needs. 6. Assist with bid books, mail distribution, order office supplies, filing and copying referrals, substitute for bus drivers as needed. 7. Notify human resources and payroll department of changes in personnel status as needed. 8. Serve as a communication and support liaison for bus drivers to ensure their route completion. 9. Perform related duties as assigned by the Manager of Transportation.
