  POSITION SUMMARY:

  The Transportation Administrator is responsible for coordinating and managing the scheduling and dispatching of drivers and vehicles, to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services. The Administrator communicates with drivers, customers, and other departments to resolve issues, track trips, and maintain accurate records.

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers, work crews, and vehicles according to customer requests, company policy, and availability.
  • Monitor drivers’ daily logs for errors or violations and ensure timely submission of logs and other required documentation.
  • Use routing software and GPS tracking tools to optimize delivery routes and monitor real-time progress.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers to provide updates, changes, or instructions regarding routes, delays, or emergencies.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve service issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain detailed records of vehicle movements, mileage, fuel usage, and other logistics data.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to schedule regular servicing and repairs for vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations and standards.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Have the ability to adapt under pressure and take direction.
  • Must be willing to work varied hours.
  • Must be able to drive standard and automatic transmissions.
  • Customer-service oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to speak English.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
