- Leading or supporting transportation electrification planning studies for government and utility clients.
- Leading or supporting analyses of strategies and scenarios to reduce transportation sector emissions.
- Developing and analyzing forecasts of zero emission vehicle sales and market penetration.
- Developing and analyzing forecasts of the use of conventional and alternative fuels (renewable and biofuels) in the transportation sector
- Analyzing locations for electric vehicles charging infrastructure and/or stations for alternative fuels.
- Staying current and connected with the electric and alternative fuel vehicle market, including trends, policies, key players, and more.
- Leading or supporting the development and deployment of communications, outreach, and training resources, including case studies, webinars, in-person events, presentations, and other opportunities.
- Interacting with various public and private sector clients.
- Bachelor’s Degree in transportation, atmospheric or environmental sciences or engineering, energy, or similar field
- 2+ years of work-related experience, research experience
- 2+ years foundational knowledge in transportation electrification, alternative fuels, vehicle technologies, charging/fueling infrastructure, and related areas.
- 2+ years knowledge of Analytical Tools: Microsoft Excel and R
- Minimum of 2 years programming or scripting language: Python
- Master’s degree or 2+ years’ experience in transportation, atmospheric or environmental sciences or engineering, energy, or a similar field.
- 3+ years foundational knowledge in transportation electrification, alternative fuels, vehicle technologies, charging/fueling infrastructure, and related areas.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- 3+ years use of Database Systems: MySQL, Access
- The successful candidate will also have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Fleet electrification studies
- Clean vehicles and fuels programs
- Charging and refueling infrastructure planning
- Emissions modeling and analysis
- Criteria and greenhouse gas pollutant emission reduction strategies
- Strong organizational, analytic, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel and R
- Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (Python)
- Familiarity using database systems (e.g., MySQL, Access)
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under strict deadlines.
- Flexibility and sound business ethics.
Transportation Electrification Consultant
Location: California preferred, REMOTE (location is flexible)
ICF is looking for a driven and dynamic Transportation Electrification Consultant to join our team and support projects that address the environmental, climate, and energy impacts of transportation.
As a consultant, you will play a critical role in developing strategies for electrification, alternative fuels, advanced technologies, decarbonization, and emissions reduction to tackle the transportation sector's challenges. You will have the chance to help fleet navigating through electrification and charging infrastructure, conduct scenario analysis, determine cost and benefit, develop policies and programs, research industry and technology trends, and support the accelerated deployment of zero-emission vehicles. You will also write reports and develop presentations that will help shape the conversation on clean transportation.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$64,372.00 - $109,432.00 California Remote Office (CA99)About the company
