      The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing operations, ensuring that freight is loaded or unloaded in accordance with established safety and cost standards, including the planning, assigning, supervising and evaluating employee workload, as well as interfacing directly with all levels of terminal staff.

      Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Maintains positive and encouraging working relations with all drivers
      • Provides constant communications of service issues to appropriate personnel and departments
      • Oversees inventory management, delivery/logistics, regulatory compliance, productivity improvement, planning and organization, problem solving, project management and communicating to top-level management
      • Manage and direct the operational functions while being the key link between the organization, drivers, and customers
      • Oversees and ensures all customer pick-up and delivery requirements are meeting customer standards
      • Oversee and ensure that equipment performance standards are being met to company specifications
      • Monitor and uphold company safety requirements on all equipment
      • Oversee and ensure the retention of drivers
      • Provide coaching and mentoring to all employees within the operation to achieve flawless customer service and key operating factor goals
      • Performs duties as needed

      Requirements:

      • BA / BS degree desired
      • At least 5-7 years of experience as a supervisor or manager in transportation
      • Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
      • Computer applications using MS Office
      • Excellent supervisory skills
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Excellent customer service skills

      Other:

      • Ability to travel at a moments notice for perhaps extended periods of time
      • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends holidays as needed
