Job Description

- Provides patients with prompt, effective, and appropriate transportation care, ensuring patient satisfaction in company assigned vehicle
- Assists the patient with entering and/or exiting the vehicle
- Monitors well-being of the patient and ensures privacy and comfort
- Utilizes mobile application on assigned company cell phone to obtain trip schedule, reporting time of patient pickups and drop offs, as well as any changes to schedule or traffic delays
- Notifies patient when enroute for pickup, and if necessary, of late arrivals
- Ensures that all vehicle occupants (patients and guest) are properly and safely restrained with seatbelts, while following all safety and compliance policies and procedures
- Assures that all required an necessary supplies and equipment are onboard the vehicle and in working order prior to departure
- Completes daily vehicle pre and post trip inspection for proper safety protocols and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Operates assigned company vehicle in a safe manner, and complying with all applicable state/county motor vehicle laws, rules, and/or regulations
- Operates wheelchair ramp as needed and assures that the wheelchair is properly restrained as the patient is safely and properly secured in their wheelchair
- Reports all accidents and/or incidents to supervisor without delay
- Maintain Passenger Assistance, Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) certification through CTAA, and complete annual wheelchair certification
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain Passenger Assistance, Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) certification through Community Transportation Association of
- America (CTAA) within first month of employment, cost covered by company
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Valid driver’s license with clean 3+ years driving record
- Proven comfortable driving in various weather conditions and geographical locations
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- Non-emergency medical transportation experience
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Transportation Specialist are responsible for providing non-emergency medical transportation to patients in a safe and timely manner, while promoting a compassionate and positive experience.
