      Main tasks include:

      Remote Trauma Registrar

      The Trauma Registrar is responsible for reviewing and analyzing data within the electronic medical record for data entry in the trauma registry. Preferred: Working knowledge of International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) and Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) Coding, and medical terminology.

      Essential Responsibilities:

      • Understanding of the American College of Surgeons inclusion criteria and ability to review reports and/or charts for qualifying patients
      • Ensures all functions of the registry are met using the guidelines set forth by the American College of Surgeons, the National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB), and the Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP)
      • Participates in inter-rater validation of abstracted patient records
      • Meets established guidelines for record completion in the Trauma Registry

      Qualifications

      Qualification

      • High School diploma or equivalent
      • 2 years related experience.
      • Medical Billing/Coding knowledge required
      • Previous experience with Collector Trauma Registry preferred.
      • Completion of American Trauma Society Trauma Registrar course preferred
      • Able to speak and write English Fluently
      • Demonstrated communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
      • Knowledge of medical terminology
      • Demonstrated ability to perform in at least one of the following areas chart review, performance improvement, medical record data abstraction, management of date entry and databases.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office
