      Unit Description:

      • Floating Requirements: Stepdown, ED for ICU holds.
      • Patient/Nurse Ratio: 2:1, 3:1, 1:1.
      • Scrub Color: Navy Blue.
      • Weekend Requirements: Yes, every other weekend.
      • On Call / Holiday Requirements: No.

      Major Function: The ICU/CCU Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing care through the nursing process. The nurse will meet the needs of the patient, family, and multidisciplinary team through effective communication, coordination, and evaluation. Compliance with all policies and procedures, nursing standards of practice, and regulatory bodies is essential.

      Experience and Requirements:

      • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience required; Medical Surgical experience preferred.
      • Specialty: Experience within Cardiac ICU preferred.
      • Weekend Availability: 12-hour shifts, Sunday to Saturday; must be available for weekends.
      • Holiday Requirements: Typically, none.
      • RTO (Request Time Off): No more than 3 days and not during the first week.
      • License: Valid NJ nursing license or compact license.
      • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA only).
      • Charting System: Cerner.
      • Scrub Color: Navy.

      First Day Instructions: Candidates will receive three emails from client by 5 PM the Friday prior to their Monday start date:

      1. TEAMS Link for Orientation: A virtual orientation day will be conducted via Teams, followed by 'at your pace' modules.
      2. Education Scheduling: Candidates must schedule and attend orientation classes from Tuesday to Thursday. Attendance is mandatory; rescheduling or missing a class will result in the inability to complete the assignment. The POCT class is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd week of the assignment.
      3. HR Email: Scheduling an ID badge appointment and reviewing policies/procedures. Obtaining the ID badge prior to the Orientation Shift is crucial for clocking in and out, which is essential for invoicing/billing.

      Note: Workers must be available for the full 7 days of their first week for Orientation. No special scheduling for Orientation is permitted. If workers cannot attend the full Orientation, the offer will be rescinded.
