  Unit Description:

  • K3 Neuro Intensive Care Unit: A 16-bed unit dedicated to the care of patients with stroke, post-neuro interventions, and neurosurgery.
  • P10 Level 1 Trauma Surgical ICU: A 24-bed unit focused on the care of Level 1 trauma surgical and interventional patients.
  • K4 Cardiovascular Surgery and Medical ICU: A 30-bed unit providing care for patients undergoing open-heart surgery and other cardiovascular medical needs.
  • K5 Cardiac Care Unit: A 13-bed unit specializing in the care of cardiac medical patients and those recovering from cardiac catheterization procedures.

  All units maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1, which may adjust based on patient acuity and stability.

  Additional Information:

  • Position: Weekends Only Critical Care/ICU RN
  • Schedule: Nights (Friday-Monday), 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week. Every other holiday is required.
  • Cancellation Policy: Client reserves the right to cancel one shift bi-weekly (per pay period) without penalty.

  Requirements:

  • Mandatory Skills:
    • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and External Ventricular Drain (EVD) experience required.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Impella experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of critical care experience in an acute care Level 1 trauma hospital.
  • Orientation:
    • 2 days of classroom orientation; no on-unit orientation provided.

  Unit Information: Agency RNs will be part of a critical care float pool, with the potential to be assigned to any of the four ICUs or intermediate units on other floors. Ratios in intermediate units are typically 1 nurse to 3-4 patients, depending on acuity. Successful candidates will have prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
