      we are looking for you as a(n) Treasury Accountant.

      Purpose
      The Treasury Accountant is responsible for all banking activity and banking software administration for Wacker Chemical (WCC) and Wacker Polysilicon North America (WPNA) including the processing of daily incoming and outgoing transactions within the banking system and reconciling these to the general ledger in SAP. As the primary point of contact with Group headquarters in Munich the Accountant will lead the successful consolidation of local quarterly and annual financial results into Wacker's Financial Accounting International Reports (FAIRS) application, and lead completion of all tasks for monthly inter company payments with other Wacker affiliates along with the preparation of the monthly cashflow forecast and payments to external Private Placement bondholders. Liaising with other Wacker departments and external auditors is a key aspect of this position.

      Essential Functions

      • Lead accountant for the maintenance and operation of the software utilized to process banking activity including lockbox in SAP (ELKO). Transfer daily bank activity into SAP.
      • Download prior day bank activity and same-day lockbox activity and upload into SAP liaising with Credit, Accounts Payable and General Ledger to ensure all transactions are correctly accounted for and resolving any issues in a timely manner.
      • Process incoming checks for bank deposit. Set up and monitor periodic payment runs and update daily cash schedules.
      • Prepare monthly cashflow forecast for WCC and WPNA, and arrange periodic correspondence and payments to external Private Placement bondholders.
      • Complete month end close activities, including posting journal entries, closing the sub-ledgers and the accounting period. Perform reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts. Ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
      • Complete quarterly and annual activities for WCC and WPNA including preparation of specific schedules for external auditors and consolidate financial results into the Financial Accounting International Reporting system (FAIRs). Support external audit as needed.
      • Perform analytical review of general ledger activity for accuracy and reasonableness, resolving differences.
      • Prepare and monitor monthly rebills to and from other affiliates and agreeing inter company balances.
      • Work with Risk Manager to prepare and maintain annual allocations for insurance.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
      • Minimum of 5 years of position related experience
      • CPA preferred but not required
      • Travel 0 to 5%
      • Competent with on-line banking systems including processing incoming & outgoing payments
      • Ability to distinguish accounting for business transactions under IFRS vs. US GAAP
      • High level of experience in SAP or equivalent MRP system
      • Proficient in Excel and Word
      • Strong team player and ability to work independently
      • Strong communication and analytical skills
