      Job summary

      Fenland Group Practice is seeking a dedicated and experienced Treatment Nurse to join our friendly and professional team. This is a multisite role, and the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work across all of our practice locations as needed. Please note: the role requires availability to work all day on Fridays.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Treatment Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include:

      • Wound care and dressings

      • Venepuncture

      • Administration of injections and vaccinations

      • ECGs and other clinical monitoring

      • Assisting with minor procedures

      • Health promotion and patient education

      • Supporting chronic disease management under the direction of GPs and Nurse Practitioners

      Job responsibilities

      Clinical Duties:

      • Perform treatment room procedures including:

        • Wound care and dressings

        • Venepuncture

        • ECGs

        • Administration of vaccinations and injections (e.g., influenza, B12, travel)

        • Removal of sutures and clips

      • Assist GPs and Nurse Practitioners in the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, COPD, and hypertension

      • Provide smoking cessation advice and general health promotion

      • Support cervical cytology clinics (if trained and up-to-date)

      • Ensure accurate documentation of all clinical care within patient records

      • Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times

      Teamworking and Communication:

      • Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team to support patient care

      • Participate in clinical meetings and ongoing training sessions

      • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, colleagues, and external agencies

      Professional Development:

      • Maintain personal NMC registration and participate in annual appraisals and CPD

      • Keep up to date with current practices and policies within primary care nursing

      • Attend mandatory training sessions as required
