      Job Summary:

      The Governor’s Office on Tribal Relations (GOTR) is looking for a highly motivated self-starter with excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills to fill the role of Project Coordinator.

      The Project Coordinator will support the statutory duties and responsibilities of the GOTR by partnering with stakeholders to enhance government-to-government relations with the twenty-two tribal nations in the state and to ensure equitable access to state services.

      Job Duties:

      The Project Coordinator will be responsible for:

      • Identifying and applying for public and private funding opportunities to support internal operations and forums for American Indians to impart their knowledge on statewide issues

      • Planning and organizing annual events such as Indian Nations and Tribes Legislative Day and the Arizona Indian Town Hall

      • Coordinating the collection and distribution of clearinghouse information to stakeholders

      • Developing content for the GOTR website and maintaining social media accounts

      Job Skills & Qualifications:

      • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds

      • Knowledge and experience working with Indigenous communities

      • Strong written, verbal communication and analytical skills

      • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills

      • Effectively communicating with team members

      • Focus on accuracy and attention to detail

      • Highly organized and self-motivated

      Job Requirements:

      • Knowledge and experience of appropriate computer software including Google Suite and Microsoft Suite

      • Proficiency in social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn

      • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or four years of experience in a similar role

      • Bilingual in English and an Indigenous language

      Pre-Employment Requirements:

      • Must have a valid driver’s license, personal auto insurance, and ability to use personal vehicle for work travel

      Travel:

      • The Project Coordinator may be expected to travel up to 20% of the time, within the Greater Phoenix Area. Employees will be expected to use their personal vehicles and will be reimbursed for mileage according to Arizona state policies. For greater distances, employees will be given access to a vehicle and reimbursed for gasoline. All employees must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance
