      The Truck Driver Training Program Coordinator position will work under minimal instruction/supervision within the guidelines established by the Dean of Manufacturing and Maintenance. The coordinator's duties will include program development, teaching courses, designing and developing curriculum, providing a systematic plan for delivering instruction, evaluating student performance, advising students and mentoring instructors. Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements, all required documentation, and administrative reports. Also, assists with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
      This position requires an associate degree in Transportation Management or Business Technology or a closely related field plus a minimum of three (3) years proven behind-the-wheel truck driving experience or a high school diploma and five (5) years of proven behind-the-wheel truck driving experience to include training and assisting students in developing the skills necessary to obtain a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL).All applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; hold a valid South Carolina Commercial Driver's License with all necessary endorsements for the motor vehicle equipment being operated; have at least three (3) years of behind-the-wheel truck driving experience and have logged at least 100,000 miles of over-the-road truck driving; or have completed a certified truck driver training school. Preferred candidates with a high school diploma will have a minimum of ten (10) years of proven behind-the-wheel truck driving experience to include training and assisting students in developing the skills necessary to obtain a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Each applicant must provide a certified SLED criminal background check, have a clean driving record, possess a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification and pass a drug screen in addition to all the South Carolina Code of Regulations, Chapter 90, Article 2, Truck Driver Schools.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience, with a starting salary of $80,000 for 12 months.
