      Are you a clinically experienced professional seeking a meaningful way to contribute your expertise?

      Our services are rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and we are seeking clinically experienced Trustees to join our Board. If you have a desire to help us make a difference to the people of Dorset who need our services, we would be delighted to hear from you.

      About the role:

      Your specific skills and knowledge will help our Trustees make informed decisions, aiding the Chief Executive in achieving Weldmars strategic goals and objectives. As an Ambassador for Weldmar Hospicecare, you will embody our values of Caring, Integrity, Welcoming, and Adaptable when engaging with staff, volunteers, supporters, and service users.

      Main duties of the job

      How much time do you need to give?

      Wed need you to attend around 12 meetings a year (each take an afternoon). You will also need time to read the supporting papers and prepare. As your experience grows you may be invited to join one of the committees which have oversight of a different area of the charitys work and governance; from financial, audit, people and clinical governance.

      Weldmar Hospicecare is an independent local charity that cares for people living with a life limiting illness within their own homes, care homes, in community hospitals and at our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester. We support more than two thousand people across Dorset each year and all of our care is provided free of charge.

      As an independent charity, we rely on donations, fundraising events and our charity shops to fund our work. We have been providing our care for the people of Dorset since 1994

      Experience

      Essential

      • You do not need to be currently employed to apply for our vacancy, we recognise the value of retired or non-working Clinicians and the skills that they can contribute.
      • We are fortunate to have a wealth of experience within our Trustee group already, so we are specifically looking for somebody with a Nursing or Allied Health background. You dont need to have experience within palliative care, but should have a passion for supporting patients and providing exceptional care. Ideally you would live locally to Dorset.
