      Title: TTA - Grants Coordinator

      Sector: Program Administration

      Location: Bujumbura, Burundi

      Start Date: As Soon As Possible

      Duration: 3 Months

      Scope of work & objectives:

      The Grants & Partnerships Unit in Burundi is currently managing grants from a diverse pool of donors including DG-INTPA, Irish Aid, SIDA, UNHCR, UNDP, and GFFO. We are looking for temporary support to help with following key deliverables:

      • Management of the Grants & Partnerships team, including one Grant Manager, one Partnerships Manager, one Partnerships Officer, and one Communications Officer.
      • Identifies potential grant sources, manages the application processes and support in-country engagement with donors, partner, and key stakeholders.
      • Participates in Partnership Technical Working Group meetings and support Partnerships team in facilitating and improving partnership policies and practices in country/ particularly with implementing partners.
      • Leading on program design and proposal development for upcoming funding opportunities in accordance with the country program’s Strategic Action Plan (SAP)
      • Overseeing grants management for the active portfolio, including leading compliance requirements and reporting
      • Supporting the Burundi country program in its implementation of Project Cycle meetings and building team capacity in PCM principles, tools and approaches.
      • Coordinating and processing project amendments, extensions, budget reviews, if any
      • Leading on donor communications together with the DDP and the Communications Officer.
      • Building capacity of grants and programs staff in donor compliance, awards management best practices, proposal/report development, and IRC’s internal procedures as needed.

      Requirements:

      • Must be a current IRC employee
      • Bachelors/master’s degree in relevant field and/or minimum 5 years’ experience in humanitarian aid, international development, or related field.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of DG-INTPA (EU) and UN regulations, procedures and requirements.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of GFFO requirements and procedures strongly preferred.
      • Excellent oral and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to write and produce documents (proposals, reports) under deadline pressure from a diverse range of stakeholders, organizations, and technical experts from multiple sectors.
      • Excellent French speaking/writing skills required.
