      Job Description

      Do you have a love for math and enjoy helping students succeed? Join our team as an online math tutor and provide mathematical help to students via web-based text chats.

      This is a remote position open to candidates located throughout the United States.

      Responsibilities:

      • Provide mathematical tutorial help (via online text-based chat) for middle school math through Calculus and Linear Algebra.
      • Assist other tutors as needed.
      • Communicate with supervisor regarding class and work schedules.
      • Monitor chats for inappropriate behavior, implement appropriate redirection, and report incidents to supervisor.
      • Tutor students using student-driven, differentiated approaches, and using grade-appropriate, mathematically correct language.
      • Communicate with co-workers, management, students, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
      • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
      • Complete mandatory quarterly training.

      Requirements:

      • Current student pursuing a BS degree in mathematics or mathematics education or recent graduate of similar program.
      • Demonstrate math proficiency up to and including Calculus.
      • Access to a computer and high-speed internet.
      • Demonstrate strong written communication skills.
      • Developing content knowledge, questioning strategies, and collaborative skills.
      • Minimum commitment of 8 hours per week.
      • Act 153 clearances required.
